According to the Extensive Rhyme Dictionary (Guangyun), it is pronounced yu. According to the Collected Rhymes (Jiyun) and the Rhyme Collection (Yunhui), it is pronounced yu. According to the Correct Rhyme Dictionary (Zhengyun), it is pronounced yu, with a pronunciation identical to yu. The Explaining Graphs and Analyzing Characters (Shuowen Jiezi) defines it as to lift something up together. Xu states that this requires the use of strength, involving both hands and fingers. Additionally, the Correct Rhyme Dictionary (Zhengyun) defines it as a type of carriage or sedan chair. Furthermore, the Collected Rhymes (Jiyun) provides a pronunciation of ju, with a pronunciation identical to ju. It is also pronounced yu according to the Correct Rhyme Dictionary (Zhengyun), with a meaning identical to yu. The Collected Rhymes (Jiyun) notes that it is sometimes also written in a variant form.
