An ancient character. Identical to the character (è), it is a simplified form of the common script. Originally written as (è), in clerical script it was written as (è). According to Correcting Errors in Common Writing (Sushu Zhengwu), the pronunciation is e. According to Long Jian (Long Jian), it is currently incorrectly pronounced as deng, used as the antonym of the character for good. The original form of the character is composed of the radical for divination and the radical for a covering.
