Pronounced li. According to the Correct Rhymes (Zhengyun), it has the same pronunciation as li. According to the Rhyme Collection (Yunhui), the meaning is to arrive or to govern. In the Book of Changes (Yijing), in the Mingyi hexagram, it states that the noble man uses this to govern the people. In the Book of Documents (Shangshu), in the Zhou Officers (Zhouguan) section, it states that one who does not study is like standing facing a wall, and in handling affairs, one will only cause confusion. Additionally, according to the Guliang Commentary (Guliang Zhuan), in the third year of Duke Xi, the meaning of this term is position or official rank.
