Originates in Qian County, Lujiang. Now referred to as the Bi River. Book of Han: Geography Treatise (Qianhan dili zhi) states that Bi Mountain in Qian County, Lujiang, is the source of the Bi River. The commentary notes that Bi is pronounced bi, and also pronounced bi (low-rising tone). Additionally, there is a Bi River in Tang Prefecture. Book of the Later Han: Annals of Emperor Guangwu (Houhan guangwu ji) states that the Han army fought against Zhen Fu and Liangqiu Ci to the west of the Bi River. The commentary notes that the Bi River is located south of Biyang County in modern Tang Prefecture. There is also a Bi River in Qian County, Lujiang, which is not the same river as this one.
