Pronounced hùn.
According to the Shuo Wen Jie Zi (Explaining Graphs and Analyzing Characters), it refers to flowing abundantly. Another meaning is mixed flow. Sometimes written in a variant form (hún).
Also refers to primordial chaos, where the original vital energy has not yet separated. According to the Dao De Jing by Laozi, there is a thing formed in chaos, born before heaven and earth.
Also, pronounced hùn. Used in names. During the Han dynasty, there was a borderland official named Gongsun Kunye, sometimes written as hùn.
Also, pronounced kūn. Refers to the Hunyi, a name for the Western Rong people. Sometimes written as gǔn. Frequently written as kūn. According to the Book of Odes (Shijing), the Hunyi have galloped away.
Also the same as kūn. According to the Rites of Zhou (Zhouli) annotations, the term hunlun is the same as Kunlun.
Also, pronounced gǔn. The same as gǔn. Describes the appearance of a great rushing stream. According to Mencius, the original spring flows in a rushing manner.
