Commentary: Yu (praise) means a good reputation. Chu (peace) means joy. Master Su says: Yu (praise) and yu (joy) are interchangeable. In all instances of the character in the Book of Odes, it refers to joy.
Also, Yunhui Xiaobu: Used as a phonetic loan for yu (to associate/give). Book of Rites (Liji), She Yi: The Book of Odes says: To feast and to enjoy.
Zheng Commentary: For the character for praise, some versions are written as the character for associate.
