Zuo Si, Rhapsody on the Capital of Wei (Weidu Fu): Quietly sipping at a private banquet, drinking to satiety without boisterousness.
Commentary: Han Poetry (Han Shi) states: Setting out your ritual vessels, the private gathering for drinking is called ou. Those capable of drinking do so, those who cannot stop, this is called ou.
Also, Wide Rhymes (Guangyun) and Collected Rhymes (Jiyun): Pronounced ou. The meaning is the same.
