Pronounced min. Same as the character for a jade-like stone. Ruanmin is a type of stone inferior to jade.
Book of Rites (Liji): Scholars wear ruanmin, tied with multicolored silk ribbons.
Kong Rong Poetry: The ruanmin and xuan gems hide their luster; the beautiful jade conceals its brilliance.
Also pronounced wen. The grain or veins of jade. Some variant forms are written using the character for patterned (wen).
