Strong — Analytical Dictionary of Characters (Shuowen). Also in Collected Rhymes (Jiyun): Initial lì and final ràng; and in Correct Rhymes (Zhengyun): Initial lì and final zhàng, pronounced like liàng. Distant. The word bèng means jìng — Book of Rites (Liji). Commentary: Jìng is equivalent to suǒ (to search). Jìng is sometimes written as liàng. Also in the Five Classics Characters of the Kaiyuan Era (Kaiyuan Wujing Wenzi): Read in the departing tone of qiáng, with initial qí and final liàng. Strong.
