According to the Treatise on Geography in the History of the Former Han Dynasty (Qian Han Shu), the Zhu River originates in Gai County of Taishan Commandery, flows out from Linlezishan, and proceeds in a northwesterly direction until it joins the Si River. According to the Commentary on the Classic of Water (Shuijing Zhu), the Si River meets the Zhu River in the vicinity of the Bian region. Also used as a surname.
