Pronounced chì. According to the Explanation of Scripts and Signs (Shuowen Jiezi), it refers to a single horn pointing upward. According to the Book of Changes (Yijing), in the Opposition hexagram, it is described as a cow pulling away. The Collected Rhymes (Jiyun) notes that it is interchangeable with the character meaning to pull. Sometimes written in a variant form (qiè).
Also, pronounced shì. According to the Classified Chapters (Leipian), it describes a cow with horns standing upright. According to the Erya (Erya), it states that when both horns are raised, it is called shi. The commentary explains that when a cow has both horns upright, it is called shi. The Collected Rhymes (Jiyun) notes that it is sometimes written in a variant form.
Also, pronounced zhì. It means one horn pointing upward. Another definition is a cow with upright horns. According to the Jade Chapters (Yupian), it is written in a variant form.
