Note: Erya uses the alternative form. Commentary: This refers to the pivot of a door. See the detailed note for that character. Also, the edge of a hall is called shi. Book of Documents (Shangshu), Charge to Duke of Bi: Four men wearing patterned caps and holding spears, standing on either side of the two stairs and the threshold.
