Guangyun: Pronounced lie. Jiyun: Pronounced zi lie, tone is equivalent. Shuowen Jiezi: Means little. Derived from small, with a falling stroke sound. Pronunciation is similar to the character chuo. Liushu Benyi: Indicates a small amount, now replaced by the character jie. Zhengzitong: Should mean to reduce or economize, as in the term zunjie. In the classics and histories, the character jie is used. Also, Jiyun: Pronounced zi xi, tone is ji. Name of an insect. Yangzi Fangyan: The qing insect, its female is called jie.
