Book of the Later Han (Hou Hanshu), Biography of the Ailao Barbarians: Moving south down the Yangtze and Han rivers, they attacked the Luoduo people of the settled borders. Chronicles of Huayang (Huayang guozhi): The Shizu Emperor dispatched troops, traveling by bamboo raft, to attack Luoduo in the south. Also written as a variant form of ji (water caltrop).
