Pronounced hu (falling tone) in Tang Yun and Zheng Yun; pronounced wu (falling tone) in Ji Yun and Yun Hui.
Meaning: Bright. The "Book of Han" (Qian Han Shu), in the biography of Yang Xiong, states: "昈分殊事."
Also, in "Fang Yan" by Yangzi, it says: "效昈, meaning refined, or ornate." The commentary explains this as "a description of ornate patterns."
Furthermore, in Zhang Heng's "Xijing Fu," it is written: "赫昈昈以弘敞." The commentary cites "Pi Cang" as saying: "昈 means red patterns."
