Pronounced chong.
In the Shuowen Jiezi (Shuowen), it is defined as an empty vessel.
In the Laozi (Daodejing): The Way is like a vessel, empty yet useful. Note: Often written as chong.
Also, according to the Zihui Bu (Zihui Bu): Gu-chong is the name of an implement. See the Wang Family Agricultural Treatise (Wangshi Nongshu).
Also, pronounced chong. The meaning is the same.
In the Pianhai: Sometimes written as gu, which is incorrect.
