According to the Sound Rhymes (Jiyun) and the Rhyme Gathering (Yunhui), the pronunciation is ying. The term huan-ying describes the swirling motion of water. Also, ting-ying refers to a small body of water. In the Discourses on the Capital (Lun du fu) by Du Du, it is written: leaving the ting-ying of the Luo region. It is also written in a variant form (ting-ying). Furthermore, ying-ying describes the sound of water. In the Account of the Cold Spring Pavilion (Lengquan ting ji) by Bai Juyi, it is written: the sound of ying-ying engages the ear. According to the Sound Rhymes (Jiyun), it is sometimes written in a variant form (ying). It is also written in a variant form (ying).
