According to the Tang Rhyme (Tangyun) and the Collected Rhymes (Jiyun), the pronunciation is yue. According to the Discussion of Writing (Shuowen), it means to break. In Yangzi's Great Mystery (Taixuanjing), it is stated: when the axle of a carriage breaks, its beam is yue. It also means to move. In the Discourses of the States (Guoyu), it is stated: its foundation is firmly set, therefore it cannot be yue. Furthermore, according to the Collected Rhymes (Jiyun), the pronunciation is wa (entering tone), with the same meaning.
