A river name.
Shuowen Jiezi (Shuowen) states: The water originates from the northern mountains of Gong in the Henei region and flows east into the Yellow River.
Water Classic (Shuijing) states: The Qi River originates from Daho Mountain, located west of Longlü County in the Henei region.
Book of Odes (Shijing), Beifeng section: It also flows into the Qi.
There is also a Qi River in Xiangyang.
Commentary on the Water Classic (Shuijing Zhu) states: The Mian River joins the Yi River to the east and flows out together with it to the east; this is called the Qi River.
Also a county name.
Expanded Records of the World (Guangyu Ji) states: It belongs to the Zhangde Prefecture and was the ancient territory of Chaoge, the capital of the late Zhou dynasty, and later became Qi Prefecture during the Yuan dynasty.
