Guangyun (Guangyun): Whenever a character shape includes the Tap radical, it can be written as this form, and the two are identical.
Zhengzitong (Zhengzitong): In the Nine Classics Character Styles (Jiujing Ziyang), it is written as Tap; it is now written as this form based on the Stone Classics, to distinguish it from the character for script (wén).
Guo Zhongshu, Collection of Amulets (Peixi Ji): Using this form to replace the Tap radical will cause the characters for nothing (wú) and the phonetic component (jì) to become confused. Practices such as this result in errors on both sides.
