The Classic of Mountains and Seas (Shanhaijing) records: On Di Mountain there is a type of fish shaped like an ox, with a tail like a snake, possessing wings with feathers growing under its ribs; its cry resembles that of a Liuniu ox, and its name is Lu. The Yumo Pianzhi states that the Lu fish lives in hills and mounds.
