The name of a river. Book of Rites (Zhouli), Office of Summer (Xiaguan), Section on Regional Officers (Zhifangshi): In Jizhou, its rivers are the Fen and the Lu. Commentary: The Lu River originates in Guide.
Also the name of a river. Broad Record of the Universe (Guangyuji): North of the city of the Yongchang military and civil prefecture in Yunnan lies the Lu River.
Also the name of a prefecture. Extensive Rhymes (Guangyun): In the early Spring and Autumn period it was the State of Lu; during the Tang dynasty it was renamed Lu Prefecture.
Also the name of an ancient city in the State of Qi. Zuo Commentary (Zuozhuan), seventeenth year of Duke Ai: The State of Qi attacked the State of Wei, captured Ban Shi and brought him back, settling him in the territory of Lu.
