Explication of Texts (Shiwen) states: Ling implies to transcend; its patterns, when viewed, resemble the ridges of ice. Jade Chapter (Yupian) states: It is a patterned silk fabric. Guangyun (Guangyun) states: Silk damask. Also in Rhapsody on the Hall of Numinous Light (Lu Lingguang Dian Fu) by Wang Yanshou: The silk rises like dragon scales.
