Also refers to mountain ranges that are winding, continuous, and connected, called luan.
Xu Fei’s Poem on Ascending Langye City: Mountains and rivers surround all that is a mountain peak.
Zhengzitong (Comprehensive Dictionary of Correct Characters): Also read according to the yan rhyme, pronounced lian. Cites Su Shi’s poem thanking Ouyang Huifu for the gift of a qin pillow: I cherish the sixty-one year old of Ruyin, whose eyebrows and eyes are as clear as spring mountains. Note: Su Shi’s poems are categorized under the han rhyme, so this citation is incorrect.
