According to the Expanded Rhymes (Guangyun), pronounced lu (falling tone). According to the Collection of Rhymes (Jiyun), the Rhyme Compilation (Yunhui), and the Correct Rhymes (Zhengyun), pronounced lu (falling tone). Refers to a beautiful bamboo. Often used to make arrows.
From Strategies of the Warring States (Zhanguoce): When Zhao Xiangzi resided in Jinyang, he worried about a lack of arrows. Zhang Mengtan said, The walls of the duke's palace are all covered with rushes, mugwort, and mats of brambles; if you request to dismantle them and use them, their strength in arrow shafts would be unsurpassed.
Annotation: Lu is the same as lu.
