According to the Sound Collection (Jiyun), pronounced ting. It is the name of a type of grass. The Explanation of Simple and Compound Characters (Shuowen Jiezi) defines it as ting-ying, which is also known as the qu grass. Additionally, according to the Extensive Dictionary of Rhymes (Guangyun), it is pronounced ting; according to the Collection of Rhymes (Yunhui), it is pronounced ding; and according to the Corrected Rhymes (Zhengyun), it is pronounced ding.
