In the Jade Chapters (Yupian), it is described as a small boat shaped like a knife.
In the Poem Presented to Wang Guiyang by Wu Jun, it is written: Traveling clothes soaked in dawn dew, the traveler's boat breasts the night rapids.
Additionally, according to the Rhyme Collection (Jiyun), it is sometimes written in a variant form. It is generally used interchangeably with the character for knife.
In the Book of Odes (Shijing), in the section Odes of Wei, it is written: It cannot even accommodate a knife.
