According to the Jade Chapters (Yupian), the term chichu denotes walking without advancing. From the Book of Odes (Shijing), in the Beifeng section: scratching the head and hesitating. Additionally, according to the Collected Rhymes (Jiyun), it is sometimes written in a variant form (di).
