Mao Collection, Middle Volume Radical: Hand (shǒu) Kangxi stroke count: 14 Page 448, Entry 11 Pronounced zhi (falling tone). In the ancient gambling game known as chupu, this term refers to a specific pattern on the dice. It is also written as zhi (falling tone). According to the Classic of the Five Woods (Wumu jing), there are four types of wangcai (a pattern on the dice). One of these is called zhi, which was later mistakenly transmitted as zhi-ye. This is an erroneous writing of the character zhi.
