Tang Rhymes (Tangyun), Collected Rhymes (Jiyun), Rhyme Compendium (Yunhui), Correct Rhymes (Zhengyun): Pronounced zhuo (rising tone).
Shuowen Jiezi (Shuowen): A zheng (gong). Composed of the metal radical with the phonetic element shu. According to military regulations, the Sima holds two zhuo.
Rites of Zhou (Zhouli), Earth Official, Drummer: Use the gold zhuo to set the rhythm for the drums.
Note: A zhuo is a zheng. It is shaped like a small bell; it is sounded during military marches to set the drumming tempo.
