Composed of Corpse and Bitter. Xu says: Not advancing. Sometimes written in a variant form (chi). Yang Xiong in Ganquan Fu (Rhapsody on the Sweet Springs): Spirits are slow (chi). The note says: Pronounced qi. Meaning slow, enduring, and peaceful. Also used interchangeably with the character for rhinoceros (xi), meaning firm.
