Also, in Rhyme Supplement (Yunbu), the pronunciation is adapted to liang (rising tone).
Zhang Ji, Poem Sacrificing to Han Yu: You and I returned together, now dwelling in different places. On the night of the sixteenth of the mid-autumn, the moon is round and the sky is somewhat clear.
Also, according to Explaining Graphs and Analyzing Characters (Shuowen): The character qing signifies rain stopping at night after which the stars appear.
Annotation: The currently common form qing is incorrect.
