Yupian explains this as a component used for binding on a curved carriage shaft. It is also written in a variant form (mù). Jiyun also notes it is written in another variant form. Also pronounced mao. Refers to a binding component on a carriage shaft. Also pronounced mou. Jiyun refers to di-mou, which is a helmet. Book of Han (Hanshu), Biography of Han Yanshou, records: Wearing armor and wearing a helmet. Commentary by Shigu says: Di-mou is exactly a helmet. Pronounced mou.
