Pronounced li. The appearance of water flowing or seeping. Another interpretation suggests it refers to water seeping into the ground. As seen in the River East Rhapsody (Hedong fu) by Yang Xiong: The marshes seep and descend downwards.
Also the name of a river. As noted in the Geography Section of the Former Han History (Qian Hanshu): The Li River originates outside the frontier west of Baishi County.
Also the name of a river, originating south of Xiang. As described in the Classic of Waterways (Shuijing): The Li River originates in Yanghai Mountain and flows south to Guangxin County, where it joins the Yu River.
Also the name of a mountain. As recorded in the Expanded Record of Geography (Guangyu ji): Li Mountain is located to the southeast of the city of Guilin Prefecture in Guangxi.
Also used as a descriptive term. As seen in the Sweet Spring Rhapsody (Ganquan fu) by Yang Xiong: Scattered and drenched.
Also refers to autumn rain, described as linli.
