Explaining Graphs (Shuowen): Ke-lan is the name of a mountain. It is located near Taiyuan and contains the Wow洼 Pond, which produces fine horses. It is also the name of a prefecture. It was originally the territory of the Loufan king, belonged to the Taiyuan region during the Han dynasty, and was established as Lanzhou during the Northern Wei dynasty. It also refers to the moist mist rising within mountains.
