Pronounced fu.
According to the Explaining Graphs and Analyzing Characters (Shuowen Jiezi), it refers to a path along the side of a mountain. It also refers to the appearance of a mountain, as in the term fu-yu. From the Rhapsody on the Master of Nothingness (Zixu fu) by Sima Xiangru: winding and undulating. Another variant form is also used. From the Verses of Chu (Chuci): the hidden parts of a mountain.
