According to the Record of Districts and Prefectures (Junxianzhi), the Fu River originates forty-two li northwest of Fuyang County in Cizhou. Gu Mountain is also known as Fu Mountain. According to Zuo Si in his Rhapsody on the Capital of Wei (Weidu fu), it borders the Zhang River and the Fu River to the north.
