Pronounced fu. Name of a river. According to the Commentary on the Water Classic (Shuijing Zhu), the Fu River originates outside the border of the Gangdi Circuit of the Guanghan Dependent State. Also, Fuling, a county name during the Han dynasty, now serves as a prefecture-level division under Chongqing Prefecture.
Also pronounced fu, with the same meaning.
Also pronounced pou. Fuo, referring to water bubbles.
Textual research: According to the Commentary on the Water Classic (Shuijing Zhu), the Fu River originates outside the border of the Gangdi Circuit of the Guanghan Dependent State. The text has been corrected accordingly, changing the character for Gang and correcting the term for the circuit boundary.
