Xiaoxiao describes the appearance of wind and rain falling in a rapid and violent manner. Book of Odes (Shijing): The wind and rain are xiaoxiao. Also the name of a river. Geography Record (Guangyuji): The Xiao River is located outside the city of Yongzhou Prefecture; its source originates from Nine Doubts Mountain (Jiuyishan).
