Pronounced suo. According to the Explaining Graphs and Analyzing Characters (Shuowen Jiezi), it signifies a hesitant heart. Formed from three heart symbols.
Also pronounced sui. The meaning is the same as above.
Also pronounced rui. It refers to a flower stamen. Formed from three heart symbols, and is a pictograph. Also written in variant forms (ruí) and (ruǐ). The common forms (ruǐ) and (ruǐ) are incorrect.
Also the name of a sacrifice. According to the Guanzi, specifically the chapter Light and Heavy (Qingzhong Pian), when autumn arrives and the grain ripens, the Son of Heaven performs the great sacrifice known as the Dazui.
Also pronounced zui. According to the Broad Rhymes (Guangyun), it means good.
