According to Jiyun (Jíyùn) and Yunhui (Yùnhuì), pronounced quánjùqiē, meaning qú. Shuowen Jiezi (Shuōwén Jiězì) defines it as "toil." Yupian (Yùpiān) defines "qúláo" as "illness, suffering." In the Book of Odes (Shijing), Lesser Odes (Xiǎoyǎ): "This child is on an expedition, toiling in the wilds." The commentary explains this as "suffering and hardship."
