Guangyun (Guangyun) says: pronounced lu. Jiyun (Jiyun), Yunhui (Yunhui), and Zhengyun (Zhengyun) say: pronounced lu.
Guangyun (Guangyun) states: Lú refers to a species of bamboo from the west, originating from Kuaiji.
Dai Kaizhi in the Bamboo Record (Zhupu) states: There is a bamboo that resembles the lu, from which it derives its name. It grows in the various commanderies of Dong'ou along the coast. Its grain is even and clean, and its skin is lustrous, smooth, and sturdy. All present-day chi (a bamboo wind instrument) cannot produce sound without this bamboo.
Leipian (Leipian) states: A basket. A large one is called a lu, and a small one is called a lan.
Commentary on the Book of Etiquette and Ceremonial (Yili): The fan is a bamboo vessel with an outer covering; its shape is likely similar to the modern ju-lu.

Rites of Zhou (Zhouli), section on the records of artisans (Kaogongji): Qin has no lu. Commentary: The handle of a spear or a halberd.
Yunhui (Yunhui) states: Same as lu (lu). The bracket or bearing block on a pillar.
