Pronounced zī liáng qiè in the "Ji Yun" (集韵), "Yun Hui" (韵会), and "Zheng Yun" (正韵). In the "Shuowen" (说文), it is written as jiāng, meaning vinegar and liquid. Another explanation is that it is formed by mixing water and rice juice. In the "Zhou Li" (周礼), "Tianguan" (天官), "Jiuzheng" (酒正): "Distinguish the materials of the four types of beverages, the third type is jiāng." Also, jiāng refers to a water name. In the "Shuijing Zhu" (水经注), "Shaopi" (芍陂) flows east into the Jiangshui (浆水). Also, hán jiāng (寒浆) is the name of a grass, namely cān cǎo (葴草). See "Erya" (尔雅), "Shicao" (释草). Also, in the "Zhou Li Zhu" (周礼注), bàng (蚌) is called hé jiāng (合浆) and also hán jiāng (含浆).
