Guangyun (Guangyun), Jiyun (Jiyun), and Yunhui (Yunhui) all state it is pronounced he.
Shuowen Jiezi (Shuowen) states it is the stem of a feather.
Erya, Explaining Implements (Erya) states the base of a feather is called a he. Commentary states it is the base of a bird feather.
Rites of Zhou (Zhouli), Earth Officers, Feather Official: Responsible for collecting taxes on feathers and quills from the farmers of the mountains and marshes according to the season. Commentary states he refers to the base of a feather.
Also, Zheng Yun (Zhengyun) states it is pronounced li. It is the same as the character for a type of vessel.
Records of the Grand Historian (Shiji), House of Chu: Swallowing three he and six wings, to surpass the lords of the world. Commentary: The Suoyin (Suoyin) says that he is the same as the character for a vessel. Pronounced li. Three he and six wings refers to the Nine Tripod Cauldrons. A hollow foot is called a he. The six wings are the six handles.
Also, in Yunbu (Yunbu), it rhymes with ge.
