According to the Book of Rhymes (Guangyun), pronounced guo. According to the Collected Rhymes (Jiyun) and the Compendium of Rhymes (Yunhui), pronounced guo.
According to the Explaining Graphs and Analyzing Characters (Shuowen), originally written as the character for a mountain located in Yanmen. Formed by the mountain radical and a phonetic component. In clerical script, it is written as Guo.
According to the Biography of Wang Ba in the History of the Later Han (Hou Hanshu), attacked the lord's fields at Guo. Note: A county name. Currently Guo County, belonging to Dai Prefecture of Taiyuan Prefecture.
