Commentary by Guo: This is the female zhen tree. It does not wither in winter. Also, zhengan refers to the two wooden stakes erected for building a wall. Classic of History (Shangshu), chapter Fei Shi: Prepare your zhengan. Commentary by Kong: The part placed at the top is called zhen, and the parts at the sides are called gan.
