Explication of Writing (Shuowen): A zheng (gong). Composed of the metal radical with the sound component shu. In military law, the commander holds two zhuo.
Rites of Zhou (Zhouli), Earth Offices, Drummer: Using the metal zhuo to regulate the rhythm of the drums. Note: The zhuo is a zheng. It is shaped like a small bell, sounded during military marches to set the rhythm for the drums. Explication of Text (Shiwen): Zhuo is pronounced zhuo.
