Pronounced zhuó. The name of a river. According to the Explaining Graphs and Analysis of Characters (Shuowen), the water originates from Gui Mountain in Qi Prefecture. According to the Treatise on Geography (Kuodizhi), the Zhuo River originates from flat land northeast of Xie County in Pu Prefecture. According to the Commentary on the Classic of Water (Shuijingzhu), the Zhuo River receives the Great Black Spring east of Yunyang County. According to the Commentary on the Classic of Water (Shuijingzhu), there is also a Zhuo River in Nanchang. It also refers to water that is not clear. In the Book of Odes (Shijing), Beifeng section: The Jing is muddied by the Wei. It is also the name of a star. In the Er Ya, Explanation of Heaven (Shitian), the Zhuo is called Bi. In the Records of the Grand Historian (Shiji), Treatise on the Pitch Pipes (Lüshu), Zhuo means to touch. It is also a surname.
