Sounded as geng. Same as the character pronounced zheng.
In the Explanation of Characters (Shuowen), it is described as the appearance of high mountains. Originally written as the character pronounced zheng. Sometimes written in a variant form (zheng).
In the Han Yu (Hanyu) Cheng Nan Lian Ju, it is written: High speech scrapes the clouds, zheng.
Note: Referring to mountains that touch the clouds.
In the Meng Jiao (Mengjiao) Gan Xing poems, it is written: I wish to load my carriage and horses, the Taihang road is zheng rong.
