Pronounced yi (rising tone). Name of a river. Also, in the Collected Rhymes (Jiyun), pronounced chi. Same as the character for an islet in a river (di). As recorded in the Table of Feudal Lords in the History of the Former Han (Qianhan Shu): Duke Kang of the Marquisate of Yiling, Wei Si. Also, pronounced shi (falling tone). Yixiang, name of a district. See the commentary on the Zuo Commentary (Zuozhuan), thirteenth year of Duke Huan. Also, pronounced zhi (falling tone). Meaning is the same.
